
Discounted Bikes is one of the UK's fastest-growing cycling retailers — premium bikes at prices real families can justify, for commuters, kids and weekend riders alike.
As the range grew, they needed a storefront that could support direct online sales as confidently as their pricing promised.
After four years online, Discounted Bikes had traffic but not the sales to match — conversion from both organic and paid was stalling. Selling premium bikes only raised the bar: it’s a category where people hesitate to buy unless every trust signal is in place, and here they simply weren’t.
The store ran on a free, off-the-shelf Shopify theme that looked more like a budget shop than a premium retailer, and with no real content there was nothing to earn organic visibility. The result was a brand that was hard to find in search and unconvincing to the visitors who did arrive.
Most importantly, it didn’t do justice to the bikes it was selling — or the families who ride them.
We rebuilt Discounted Bikes from the ground up — replacing the free, off-the-shelf theme with a bespoke storefront designed to look premium and earn trust from the very first scroll.
Every template was redesigned around clarity and confidence: bold, obvious navigation, honest pricing with the saving shown up front, finance options presented early, and the trust signals premium buyers look for — genuine reviews, guarantees and secure checkout — surfaced exactly where people hesitate.
Choosing the right bike is where sceptical buyers stall, so we built a guided Bike Finder: a short wizard that takes a rider from type, age and budget to the right bike in a few taps — turning uncertainty into a confident add-to-cart.
To close the organic gap, we added genuinely useful content — buying guides, comparisons and sizing help — giving the site something worth ranking for and giving shoppers reasons to trust the brand long before they reach the basket.
The result is a fast, mobile-first store that finally looks the part — and backs it up with the proof and guidance a premium purchase demands.
